Season Finale: September 8, 2007- Scotia Speedworld

 Date: (9/16/2007)

The season finale 200-lap race was a great one for Daryl. Daryl placed third in his heat race- posting the fastest lap- and started the feature 16th. He cracked the top ten by lap 21, and the top five in lap 52. Daryl ran strongly in 5th until the mandatory competition break at the 101-lap mark. This was in spite of the fact that the car began hesitating in the centre of the corners- likely due to some dirt getting lodged in the carburetor during the race. The crew attempted to unclog it during the very short competition break. On the restart, a slow car ahead caused some lost positions, and the carburetor problem lingered, forcing Daryl to run the less favourable outside line to maintain power. However, the 66 raced in the top ten pack for the remaining 100 laps. Daryl picked up two spots on the final lap to earn a 6th place finish!

Daryl finished the season 14th overall in points. It was a good year for the team even though through hard racing and some bad luck (flat tires with two laps to go, unavoidable wrecks ahead…) the final outcome didn’t always reflect it. Daryl consistently raced in the top ten and was a strong competitor- and posted our best finish to date in the final race of the season.

See you at the races in 2008!
